Fix was the final short format film for the DXArts video series. My assignment was to further explore the integration of algorithmic processing and digital video. I intended the short to be a slightly humorous and disturbing dramatization of our increasing addiction and dependence on technology.
The effect of the computer monitor in fix were generated in real time by a processing application. The source code is available here. The pseudo-mesh warp effect ad the end of the film was generated by a python script batch processing the frames of the video as an image sequence. The script works by refreshing only a masked portion of each frame rather than refreshing the whole screen. The python script is available to download here (requires Python Imaging Library. ).
